At the BVE Expo in London, Gitzo were showing off a new range of carbon fibre boom poles in differing lengths and diameters. The maker is perhaps best known for their tripods and monopods, but have apparently been making boom poles as well for some years.
The biggest selling point for the new poles is that they are made from Glitz’s latest Carbon eXact carbon fibre which is super stiff, yet very light. The result is a boom pole with less flex that is easier to hold for long periods.
All the boom poles can be cabled internally. The largest diameter one can also have a regular XLR connector passed through it for easier wiring.
The poles have two nice rubber grips that are similar to those on Glitz’s monopods.
