Blackmagic Design today released their latest firmware for their Video Assist and Video Assist 4K recorders. The headline feature is the addition of support for 3D LUT monitoring.
In addition the Video Assist gains several different DNxHD flavours. 220,145 and 45 are now included. It also gets false colour monitoring to aid with correct exposure. Also in the update is an extended HDMI luminance range and improved screen colourimetry. Fan noise is also said to be improved – something that had been slightly annoying to date.
There are also expanded options for Focus Assist to include Red, Green, Blue and White as well as peaking. Screen orientation can now be manually set.
The 4K recorder also gets the ability to wrap DNxHD files in the MXF format.
