At the IBC show in Amsterdam this year, Wooden Camera introduced the Zip Box, a lightweight rubber matte box that’s designed to clamp onto lenses of varying outside diameters. They have versions for two different size filters — 4×4 and 4×5.65 — and have different clamp on versions for lenses of varying diameters, including 80-85mm, 90-95mm, and 110-115mm.
This matte box will be great for rigs where you need to eliminate as much weight as possible, like a gimbal rig or putting the camera up on a drone.
The Zip Box will cost $99 for both 4×4 and 4×5.65 versions, and the step-up rings will cost $29 for the set. It should be available in the next few weeks. Check out the Wooden Camera site for more info.
