At the IBC Show in Amsterdam, VISIO were showing two new fully colour tunable LED panel lights. The Pasolite S100 and S200 are colour adjustable from 2800K-10000K and VISIO claim there is no colour shift across the kelvin range.
The smaller S100 can be run off a v-lock camera battery, while the larger S200 needs to be mains powered. Both lights have a wide beam angle of 120 degrees and can be externally controlled via DMX or a wireless iOS/Android app.
The Visio Control App allows you to make adjustments to the brightness, colour temperature, and control the colour hue. This allows you to create a vast array of different colour effects which can be useful on certain productions.
The S100 weighs in at 3.5kg and the the larger S200 is 6.5kg. Despite their large size the lights have quite a modest power output. Visio claims the S100 can produce 2335lx at a distance of 1 meter when set at 3200k, and 2359lx when set at 5600K. The S200 can put out 4205lx at 1 meter when set at 3200k, and 4248lx at 5600k.
The Pasolite S100 and S200 look to offer similar functionality as the Arri SkyPanel series, but with considerably less output. The lights will start shipping towards the end of the year, but there is currently no indication of pricing.
