At the IBC Show in Amsterdam, Vinten were showing their new Vantage compact robotic head. The lightweight robotic head has been designed to support camera configurations up to 4.5kg.
With a weight of 2.2Kg, it can be mounted on any flat base tripod or 75mm bowl tripod with the optional bowl adapter. There is also an optional set of lens motors available that are designed to be used with still photography lenses.
The Vinten Vantage is a upgrade from the traditional PTZ solution as it allows the user to choose the best camera and lens configuration depending on the application. The new Vantage is perfect for using some of todays smaller digital cinema cameras such as the Sony FS5 and Canon C100/300 in a studio environment.
The Vantage will cost £5000 ($6650 US), and it should be available to purchase towards the end of this year.
