Zeiss has continued adding models to the Milvus line of still lenses, which are mostly updates from their Classic ZF and ZE line. Now at IBC in Amsterdam, they’ve introduced a 15mm f/2.8, 18mm f/2.8, and 135mm f/2. We’ve already talked a bit about them, so be sure to read the previous post.
The 15mm and 135mm are relatively minor updates optically, as they have been brought over from the previous Classic line, though the removable lens hood is a pretty big deal for the 15mm. The 18mm, on the other hand, is a brand new design, and is a reflection of how lens design has improved for Zeiss. The old 18mm wasn’t a particularly great lens, especially at f/3.5, but the new f/2.8 design should fit much better in the lens bag.
All of the lenses will be available in Canon EF and Nikon F mounts, and the 15mm will be priced at $2700, the 18mm at $2,300, and the 135mm at $2,100.
