Tilta were busy at the BIRTV show in Beijing. They were clearly aiming to impress with the sheer number of new products. They had new camera rigs for the Panasonic Varicam LT and Canon C300 mkII. The Varicam LT cage is based on Tilta’s Alexa Mini cage, and comes with a top plate that features wired and integrated lemo connections. There are also three lemo power connections on the top handle for further connectivity.
There is also a LCD display on the side of the camera that provides information about how much battery power you still have left. The Varicam LT rig comes with a integrated baseplate and shoulder pad that can accept 15mm rods. Tilta expects to start shipping the cage within the next few weeks.
Also on display was their updated rig for the Canon C300 Mark II. The system features a top cheese plate and handle that are one piece. For running your camera off a larger battery there is also a V-lock power plate that attaches via 15mm rods to the top plate. The rig on display did have a baseplate system, but it didn’t feature an integrated shoulder pad. The C300 Mark II rig is about to start shipping and the price should also be available in the next few weeks.
