With their Snap Bag line of lighting modifiers DoP Choice somehow achieve what seems like alchemy – intensifying and softening light at the same time. I’ve used Snap Bags with the BB&S Area 48 and Cineo’s HS LED fixtures and they make these already brilliant lights really special. The bags attach quickly and easily and create soft lights that are incredibly quick and easy to set up with beautiful results. They also fold down very small for travel. The Snap Grids are very compact too and allow you to add directionality to your light with custom-sized fold-out grids that attach via trademark holder friendly ‘sturdy hook and loop fabric.’
Good news then that the company is launching Kino Flo-compatible versions of its Snap Bag and Snap Grid products. The grids, available in 40° or 50° versions, will fit Kino Flo’s 2-foot and 4-foot 4Bank, Flathead, Celeb, and Select 30 lighting fixtures; and the only slight disappointment is that the Snap Bag will only be available to fit the Select 30.
No word on pricing or availability yet, although on past experience I’d expect the new Snap Bags to be ‘good value’ rather than ‘inexpensive.’ More info on the Snap Bag and Snap Grid ranges at the DoP Choice website.
