At the NAB show Autel Robotics were showing a prototype camera and gimbal that looked a lot like its closest rival. The as-yet-unnamed Autel has a combines a 4K camera with a three-axis gimbal and a lens with a 108° field of view. It also has in internal mic near its base, along with a 3.5mm mic input for external sources. It has all the regular follow modes and smartphone control.
The camera is capable of 4K 30p and slow motion HD at 120p, but there was no information about bitrates or alternative frame rates. Of course a camera gimbal like this needs to be reliable and have good software and we’ll have to see if Autel can produce that.
The 4K camera and gimbal is not yet available and the company say they want to get user feedback before launching.
