Creative Solutions already has a physical space in LA where it’s possible to check out equipment in person, and Vitec’s newest acquisition, of cutting-edge tech specialists Offhollywood, adds a New York Creative Solutions showroom as well as the considerable technical expertise of the Offhollywood staff.
Offhollywood are well known for their innovative gear, especially for RED cameras, and they’ve kept abreast of recent advances in digital film tech, from 4K to 8K through 3D to VR. Their latest line of camera backs for RED, the OMOD, was developed in conjunction with Creative Solutions – the units provide video and power I/O, lens control, audio, and timecode to the latest generation of RED cameras.
Mark L. Pederson, co-founder and CEO of Offhollywood says the partnership with Creative Solutions on the OMOD helped Offhollywood to “[overcome] obstacles that otherwise would have been insurmountable,” and in the immortal words of Victor Kiam, Vitec were so impressed they bought the company.
Offhollywood’s facility in Brooklyn, NY, will house the new Creative Solutions New York showroom. Much like the west coast’s CSLA, CSNY will support filmmakers in the greater New York area with products from all the Creative Solutions brands.
