Frame.io to allow real-time collaboration within Adobe Premiere Pro

Collaborative software platform Frame.io will soon be releasing a new version that allows for real-time collaboration to happen right inside Premiere Pro. According to the company, their application has been redesigned and reengineered to work with the Adobe panel architecture.

Frame.io claim that it’s the most direct and communicative workflow for collaboration between team members and clients. The concept looks to be good and while it is sure to speed up collaboration during the edit process, I’m not sure just how happy some editors will be about a third party jumping in during the middle of their edit!

Features:
A shared cloud bin that multiple editors can work from
One click import and export of sequences, project files, and bins.
Real-time comments directly in your Premiere timeline with no marker syncing
Auto versioning for rapid iteration on creative ideas
Comment marker syncing for when you do not have an internet connection
Sync’d playback in Frame.io and your Premiere timeline

We have already seen Frame.io evolve to include integration with FCPX and this latest integration is just another step in making the software more useful across multiple NLE platforms.

The panel has been in development for seven months and will be available to download just before NAB. Frame.io offers a free version with limited storage for smaller teams – for larger projects that need more storage, there are monthly subscriptions plans ranging from $15 US to $150 US.
