Genus and TLS were at BVE 2016 to introduce their new Production Mattebox. Like other Genus matteboxes, this one was designed by TLS and it’s intended to be attached to lenses ranging from small 52mm threaded stills primes all the way up to 118mm cine monsters.
Standard equipment includes 15mm rod clamps, two stage filter holder, a French flag and a swing away bracket for quick lens changes. The company hopes to be launching soon at a price point of around $500 US – that certainly sounds like a good deal for a flexible mattebox that could be used in a lot of different shooting setups.
