With the Canon C300 mkII due to ship soon, several rig makers have been showing their designs for the camera. The latest is from Movcam, who have a new top handle design that replaces the existing Canon setup with something a bit more streamlined. It appears to be a one piece unit which bolts in where the Canon helmet would otherwise go. The nicest feature is the addition of a dual 15mm rod clamp that allows for top mounting of follow focus or other accessories like an EVF.
As with the Canon original handle the LCD screen/audio jackpack can be attached to the front of the Movcam handgrip, or placed on a cold shoe at the rear.
The rest of their C300 mkII rig uses existing Movcam parts that can already be purchased.
No pricing for the new handle has yet been given.
