By associate editor Elliot Smith:
Lighting company Westcott have added to their range of flexible LED lights with larger panels, new grip options, battery power and kit bundles.
Their original Flex 1×1 panels have been popular with the Newsshooter team as they’re small enough to roll up and fit in a bag but pack a respectable punch for their size.
Now the range of options available has expanded, with panels available in larger 2×1, 3×1 and 2×2 configurations as well as the original 10″ square 1×1.
Cables to power the panels from batteries with a D-tap connector have also been announced, along with Westcott’s own battery solution which the company says is able to power a 1×1 panel for up to 2.5 hours.
Perhaps most useful of all is the new ‘Cine’ configuration for all the kits, which replaces the original ‘bendy aluminium and a crocodile clip’ X-Bracket Mount with a collapsible aluminium Scrim Jim frame sized to fit the panel.
All of the new items are flagged as being available in ‘late summer 2015;’ we’ll update if we can get a firmer date from Westcott…
