Atomos are showing offthe latest v6.3 firmware for their Shogun 4K field recorder at Cinegear this year. Updates include improved metadata logging for clips (allowing tags such as ‘bad audio,’ ‘talent 1’ and ‘talent 2’ for example), as well as anamorphic de-squeezing for the Panasonic GH4 in a number of ratios. You will also be able to schedule and capture 4K timelapses with the Shogun which will start recording at a set time.
Atomos hope to have the firmware available next week from their site.
