DJI’s Ronin-M brushless gimbal was one of the hits of NAB 2015 in Las Vegas. It brings the control, tool less adjustment and build quality of the original Ronin to a smaller, more manageable stabiliser built for DSLRs and lightweight camera packages. We had expected DJI to price the Ronin-M aggressively, but until now there has been no official pricing.
I awoke this morning to discover that UK dealer Production Gear has started taking pre-orders for the new DJI Ronin-M brushless gimbal for the low price of just £1082.50 + tax. At this price it is going to re-define the lower end of the brushless gimbal market – it is as cheap as some DIY solutions were just a few months ago. It will probably give most other brushless gimbal makers something to worry about.
Update: DJI have officially released the US price of the Ronin-M as $1399 US. Below is their press release:
DJI Ronin-M Available for Pre-Orders at US$1,399
DJI is excited to announce that the Ronin-M will be available for pre-order on DJI.com today.
Since its announcement at NAB, the Ronin-M has been generating excitement and interest – including acknowledgement as the “Best Camera Support of NAB 2015” from Videomaker.
The Ronin-M will be available for pre-order for an MAP of $1,399 via store.dji.com or our dealers this afternoon (28 April).
“We are excited to bring a new level of lightweight and easy to set up camera stabilization to a wide community of filmmakers,” said Paul Pan, DJI Product Manager.
