As well as the launch of their new FS7 camera, Sony have also unveiled the PXW-X500 ENG camera that updates the PMW-500 – the mainstay of many broadcast news stations. The PXW-X500 has a number of key features not seen before in this level of 2/3 inch camera. These include a three-CCD sensor system capable of 120fps slow motion and XAVC recording. Other improvements include a new high resolution side-mounted flip-out monitor and the same menu system as the F5 and F55, plus various connectivity options.
