By site editor Dan Chung:
Expert analysis, news and views, lively debate and maybe even the odd bust-up: that’s what we can promise you at NAB 2014 in Las Vegas.
The show opens its doors to the public this Monday and we are promised the event will be bigger, better and brighter than ever – much like the NewsShooter team that we are sending along this year. It’s our largest ever: an impressive volunteer crew of experienced shooters, photographers, editors and reporters will join Dan Chung and Matt Allard in Las Vegas.
Starting on Monday at 11AM PST we’ll be broadcasting our first live webcast from the Teradek booth on the show floor. This runs until midday and then we’ll be back in the afternoon at 3PM PST for another couple of hours.
We’ll have all the latest gear and gadgets to look at, plus lively panel discussions on topics including “4K – why bother?” “Is DSLR dead?” and “The challenges and creative possibilities of using unmanned drones”. Panellists will include the likes of Philip Bloom, Jason Wingrove, Steve Weiss, Andy Shipsides, Jem Schofield and many more. Don’t be surprised if things get heated.
A full live show schedule will be available by Monday.
Our pre-recorded interviews will start one day earlier on Sunday the 6th and run through the week. We have been promised some in-depth interviews with the major manufacturers including Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Arri and more. We’ll also be trawling the show floor to take a look at all the other cameras, lenses, lights, rigs, tripods, dollies, stabilisers, audio gear and whatever else catches our eye.
