There are some crazy gadgets to be found at Japan’s Interbee trade show. This year Japanese company Multicamlaboratory are showing a full ENG news gathering setup for the iPhone. It allows use of 2/3 B4 lenses with full servo zoom capability. The clever part is an optical adapter that is used instead of a conventional depth of field adapter with focussing screen inside. It has SDI connectivity and is setup with an EVF from Astro Design that costs several time more that the iPhone.
The company also showed a similar adapter that allows use of S35 lenses PL mount lenses on an iPhone. Apart from being a fun toy I could also see this having a practical use in film production as a high-tech directors finder.
