Wooden Camera have preempted the sales start of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with launch of an inexpensive cage for it. To my knowledge this is the first for the diminutive camera.
At $99 US the cage is beautifully simple and offers multiple mounting holes for accessories.
The cage is compatible with Wooden Camera’s HDMI clamp and the $199US A-box XLR to 3.5mm jack audio adapter. Do note that the A-box does not have a built in pre-amp unlike some Juicedlink or Beachtek adapters.
Another accessory which looks especially nice is their quick release baseplate which allows rapid detachment of the camera from the rails system – great if you want to grab just the camera or pack the rig away in your kit bag.
There is still no definitive launch date for the camera but expect to see plenty more rig options in the next few months.
