Broadcast Asia 2013: Tokina 11-16mm Cine version expected less than $2000 from Dan Chung on Vimeo.
The Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 stills lens is probably the most widely used budget wideangle for large sensor cameras at the moment. Various after market manufacturers such as Duclos and GL Optics offer cinema style rehousings with manual aperture control. Seeing the popularity of their lens and the demand from shooter Tokina have decided to make their own cinema version – first seen briefly at NAB earlier this year.
At Broadcast Asia in Singapore the lens was on show again but this time with more details. According to the Tokina representative the price will definitely be less than $2000 US and it should be available in September.
