Robert Rozak of Juicedlink has posted the video below detailing the audio features of both the Canon 5D mkIII and the Nikon D800. In the video he also shows off the new RM333 audio adapter/pre-amp designed with newer DSLRs in mind.
The new adapter has a small form factor, three XLR inputs, new battery efficiency features such as partial power-down, and interestingly the ability to mount wireless mics and other accessories to the pre-amp itself.
The current Juicedlink DT454 audio adapter which I own and use has been very popular amongst DSLR news shooters due to its size and clean pre-amps. However some users have criticised the quality of the construction and question the durability. We’ll be sure to swing by and inspect the new RM333 at NAB 2012 to see if it improves on the DT454.
