iZugar's tiny fisheye lens fits M4/3 and Sony E-mount - works well for VR

At the Photokina show Hong Kong firm iZugar were showing a new fisheye lens that is designed with VR applications in mind. It has an extremely compact design and almost infinite depth of focus, yet manages to stay high resolution with far less chromatic aberration than is usually seen on fisheyes at this price point. This makes it highly suitable for VR and iZugar had some convincing results on show.

The iZugar fisheye is designed with 360 applications in mind

Although the lens is primarily designed for 360 shooting as part of a camera array, it can also be used as a standalone fisheye for regular video and photo shooting. On a M4/3 sensor the image will appear as a circle with the top and bottom cropped.

The iZugar fisheye has a micro 4/3 mount that can be adapted to fit onto a Sony E-mount camera

On a larger S35 sensor the image appears as a full circle. The lens can easily be adapted to fit Sony E-mount cameras with a simple adapter that iZugar will sell.
